Hi,


If someone goes on holiday in 12 weeks time is now time enough to apply for a first time passport bearing in mind they interview now? if it doesnt arrive in time there will be tears :(

Move fast, breadstick! It's coming up to the really busy period now, the sooner you apply, the better.
It's a bit tight, but might just be done - the current time seems to be around 6-8 weeks from application to getting the passport.
Worth using the Post office facility for taking the photos (they have to be exactly right) and checking the application, then they send it off for you - there's a fee but at least you know it'll be 100% correct when the PO send it off.
Errr Boxy - if you read experiences about the Post Office "service", you'll find that it is error strewn and offers no guarantee of anything - or indeed compensation (or even return of fee) if they cock it up - which they all too often do.

Get a local passport photographer to take the pictures and have the form checked by a couple of literate/sensible friends.
