Maldives - Innoculations?
Have any ABers been to the Maldives, and if so do you need to take anti-malaria tablets, or get other innoculations before travelling there?

It also works closely with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. So information from NaTHNaC should be regarded as about as 'official' as it's possible to be. It's a pity that hardly anybody seems to know about their service!

I've been to the Maldives about a dozen times.
If you are sticking to the tourist islands (and you cannot go to non-tourist islands without permission) no real precautions are needed. For most tropical countries Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Diptheria innoculations are recommended though there is no real risk of these in the Maldives. There is no Malaria (and in fact very few mosquitoes). There are plenty of biting insects but mossies are scarce mainly because there is virtually no standing water and no rivers.
