Local Uk Traffic And Travel News

I'm disappointed to read that the BBC has closed down its online travel news section I always liked to check it if I was about to drive anywhere or to verify word of a hold up on the roads.

The AA do a traffic and travel map but its never quite as up to date as the BBC one was. Does anyone have any suggestions for reliable live traffic and travel news?

Thr RAC seeme to update quicker than the AA.

Google maps also show traffic.

Thanks both. I didn't see the previous post on the subject, and will have a look the the various suggestions.

For anyone else looking in, I have tested the RAC site and it seems up to date, although its not keen on my ipad format so I might have a look at the app.

Google maps however, gives congestion, but not too much else. For example we have a road closed near us this evening after a serious accident and nothing showing on google, yet up to date info on RAC. reopened now. Plus another road closed for roadworks and a 20 mile diversion. Again no congestion as such so nothing on google maps about it either.
