Must Be Me
I often wonder about people with young children especially babies and toddlers taken them abroad to places like Cyprus and Crete or turkey in the months of June,July, and August, the temperatures in those countries then are in the 80s,highly irresponsible in my opinion,a holiday in Britain would be much more suitable were the temperature is reasonable, would be better if they waited till the children were older.

I think when they are really little, they would enjoy a bucket and spade on a beach in Cornwall or Devon just as much as a beach in hotter climes. I know I did. It's the parents who want the holiday, not the kids.

Why has much of this thread turned nasty? Presumably because of who is saying it rather than what they're saying? Children born in hot countries are used to it, that's a given. It's no comparison with taking a 6 month old who lives England to spend a couple of weeks in 80 degrees.
I see them myself on holiday, struggling on the flight and then again on the beach with buggies, tents etc etc and the babies still cry.

There's a difference with being born somewhere and going on holiday though. In the Caribbean you see the whole family come down to the beach on a Sunday for a dip - it's lovely to see and all generations are there. They spend a few hours (under a gazebo ususally) and then go home again. They're not confined to the beach/pool all day, day after day like holidaymakers.
There have been small riots over kids in 1st, by varying entitled twerps, if you fly with your baby or toddler you can hardly stick it at the back of the plane can you, nor should you have to, and 1st would be so much easier to fly than economy with a very small child, so I imagine they are thinking about that.
In fact only airline to officially ban children from 1st class is malaysia airlines, they rarely do long haul so it'd be moot getting 1st class anyhow and also didn't they loose a plane recently?
So what passengers complain about and what legislation's are in place are quite different. Anyhow this is about heat and not the flight aspect of the holiday

Yes they are, but my point is there is frequently eye rolling and complaining- we are generally not very child friendly when it comes to kiddies being a 'nuisance' by being kids, and I was pointing out Virgin are trying to address this by instigating child friendly cabins in 1st, that's all. some people are lovely travellers, some are horrible and most people are right in the middle, but it does shock me how child unfriendly some people are.
