The Waveney valley, as suggested by Maydup, is indeed very pleasant. It's on the very edge of the Broads, enabling you to hire (dog-friendly) day boats to explore along the river. e.g. https://www.waveneyrivercentre.co.uk/stays-and-boat-hire/boat-hire/day-cruisers/

As has been said, both Bungay and Beccles are worth a visit. I'm particularly fond of Harleston too. Other pleasant towns, such as Loddon and Halesworth are within easy reach, as are the delightful seaside resorts of Southwold and Walberswick. However you'd need a car to get the best from a visit to the area, as the bus services around there are rather limited and, apart from Beccles (which is on the Lowestoft to Ipswich line), none of the towns are served by rail.

Agree with Buenchico North Norfolk is lovely, lots of nice beaches and walks and some interesting National Trust houses. We stay with friends who live near Holt which is a charming Georgian town. The Gower coast is beautiful too

Cornwall would be my option, but depending on what the law says about travelling - the problem is it gets pretty busy in the hotspots -
i loved staying in a place called Lostwithiel, with Mr Em, we drove around the county stopping off many places. Depends as i said on when or if this lockdown stops.

I'd recommend the Isle of Anglesey any day and a holiday on the Norfolk Broads is fabulous.

, 10 yrs after my Mum died , my Dad remarried a lovely lady and they lived in retirement on Anglesey, My Dad was cremated in Bangor, they lived in Betsy-co-ed ( I bet that's not right ) and I recall their back garden looked over to Puffin Island ? And you could see Snowdonia on a good day , I may be wrong in my geographical memories , maybe Rowan

yes, we stayed in a cottage just outside Llanfair PG. We were at a flyball competition at the top of anglessey. Beautiful and lots of good memories :)
