Thanks everyone for your amazing help , I’ll apply for my senior rail card today and then cherry pick what will be the best for us and how long we’ll be in London, I’m hoping to secure a box if we can ( Naomi's suggestion) thank you all so much for your help , it’s something that really appeals to me as I love popular classics and to be part of a live event would be fantastic xx
sure you will love it Bobbi...

I’m excited already Emmie , this came about in a chance remark from Naomi anencephaly me her and Barsel were watching the Proms on BBC2 last night,
i watched half of it, will catch up with the rest later on.
The Classic concerts were cancelled in 2020 and rescheduled to 2021. Although some will have been sold to tourists, many people will have kept their tickets and transfers to this year, so I urge you to look at the availability first and secure your tickets before you confirm any other plans.
Bobbi, boxes come in various sizes starting with seating for five, but seats costs about the same as those in The Round. If there are four of us, we buy the extra seat so we have the box to ourselves. If there are only two of us we buy the front seats in the box. Please don’t buy seats in ‘The Gods’. They are cheaper but viewing is restricted and before the evening is out you’ll be suffering from vertigo! It’s so steep!! Awful! We only did it once when they were the only seats we could get for an opera we particularly wanted to see. Never again!

It made for nice Saturday night viewing , you can keep all your game shows etc, not a patch on this programme x
i have been to see endless concerts there, and usually was lucky enough to secure almost front row seats, but a box sounds like a good bet.
naomi, I just looked at the RAH booking site and the box I clicked on was for 4 - second tier 41 for 4 persons total £896.08
Question Author
I’ll do that before anything else Maydup , thanks
Barry, unless they've changed it all since Covid that might be for a hospitality package.
it is, as i looked at their prices, you get a champagne start, followed by three course meal etc, cheapest was 900 odd quid.. wow.
I don't think that's overly expensive for a fabulous show and meal served to your box with wait service throughout. Sample menu here

Question Author
Don’t particularly want the champagne and meal to be honest
but include trains/hotels/sightseeing its just not worth it.
nor me either...
Neither would we, bobbi. That's for people entertaining. We just have an early supper in a little Italian restaurant down the road and then enjoy the evening - glass of wine in hand.

That would be £450 a couple just for waiter service ? Withou the travel and hotel,
Maybe if it had been a very special occasion yes, but not just my birthday
