Heathrow Arrivals Delays

Apparently it is taking up to 5 hours for the UK boarder force to clear travellers arriving in the UK at Heathrow.

The Home Office response to this debacle is ‘Hard cheese – travellers will have to put up with the delays’

If I was running the country, after their day at work, Home Office employees would be required to wait 5 hours until they could leave for home – and woe betide anyone who complains at the delay.

Do the boarder force put them up in overnight accommodation then? Am not sure where the 5 hours comes from. I see several references to 90 minutes and more for up to 3 hours. Yes there of course have to do spot checks on locator forms but it's too long I agree. Maybe they want to discourage travel abroad and back

O yeah sen itnow.one passengersays they waited 5 hours last week. Doesn't say why though maybe they hadn't done paperwork right

Presumably there checking passenger locatpr forms for pcr test results and vaccines and sorting quarantine for red list countrys. There be complaints if they just let everyone straight through and lots of covid came in from say india or Mexico or italy

People complained when they were letting people through only doing a cursory check on the paperwork. Now there are complaints there are long waits because they are doing the paperwork checks. Cannot win either way - you can't please everyone.
