Hi Ab'ers, can anyone recommend a travel insurer? We are going on a 2 week Med cruise next April with P&O visiting 9 European destinations. We are both early 60s. Staysure seem the way to go but as we're not seasoned cruisers perhaps one of you know any others we could consider. TIA.

You could enquire about a Nationwide Plus Account.

On my last cruise, my fellow Speaker - who is in his seventies - advised that he pays £13 per month for insurance through them, and they cover him for working as a Speaker for no additional fee.

I will be investigating when my insurance is up for renewal.
I've never been on a cruise. (It wouldn't appeal to me anyway).

However I have used HolidaySafe for my travel insurance on several occasions, having been pointed towards the company by the Money Saving Expert website. Their rates have always seemed very reasonable to me and they offer top-ups to their regular policies, specifically for cruising:

Thanks very much, I will look into your great suggestions. We decided on a cruise as it will be our 40th wedding anniversary and some of the destinations are a once in a lifetime wish for us like Santorini, Rome and Pisa. Just want to be covered by a reputable insurer. Thanks again.
If you're on a P & O ship, you might see me!
Staysure is good if you have pre-existing medical conditions, especially if they're quite complicated. It might not be the cheapest for more straightforward travel insurance needs ...
I have a world wide annual insurance with Insure and Go. I just phoned them up and added cruise insurance when I went from NY to the UK on the QM2 last year. Cost another £30. Staysure are good though.

Plenty to check out thanks. Will compare them tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up.

Staysure is a solid choice, but you might also want to check out Allianz or World Nomads. They've got good coverage options too. That said, I'm also planning a trip soon, as I've booked a cruise from Los Angeles to the Hawaiian Islands through https://www.cruisetimetables.com/cruises-from-los-angeles-california.html  So, I'll be dealing with insurance in the near future just like you. Wishing you a fantastic trip, and maybe we'll both have some great stories to share after our cruises!
