e ticketing

we are going to the USA in a couple of weeks. I have booked for the 1st time ever the flights on the internet. (e ticketing) my girlfriend mum payed for the flights on her credit card. What exactly do we have to take the the airport with us? Im just paranoid I think because I have never booked on line before. Does her mum need to fill out a form because she payed on her card and it was not me and my gf who booked them? Thanks

when I booked a flight we just printed off the details of flight times etc at the time of booking,then took that to check in we didn't have any problems.

I flew to America 18 months ago and my uncle booked and paid for the flights. We handed over the print out of the email confirmation and she then looked the booking up on the computer. Then we just had to show our passports to prove we were the passengers and that was it!

a copy of the booking/conformation/reference number and your passports, is all you should need.

In theory as long as you know your flight number you should be able to check in fine, but in practice having as much info as possible is always the best thing to do.

When flying from Glasgow to Amsterdam I turned up at check-in armed with everything printed off. The KLM check-in girl simply took my passport and asked me to confirm my destination. Same coming home. So simple.

I would check with the airline as we have had to produce the credit card at check in. Not every time but it could cause problems if they do want to see the card. I seem to remember BA wanting to see it, but I am not sure if all airlines do. Best to check with them before you go.

Check with the airline, but I would have thought that for an e-ticket your passport and a printout from the confirmation would be enough. I've never been asked for more - usually just shoved my passport at them and it's been OK.

If it's ticket on departure (ie picking up a physical ticket at the airport) then they usually want the CC it was booked with as well as a further form of id.

We are going over Easter. Have just the paperwork like you to hand over at checkin desk.

Don't forget you will need proof of where you are spending your first night. (Have it in your hand luggage / hand bags etc)

Was told that all they needed re tickets was the booking reference number - but then again we did pay for it all ourselves so will have the credit cards with us.

We went to America recently with E-Tickets and it couldn't have been easier. Like you I was a bit worried, becuase the holiday doesn't feel 'real' until you have the tickets in your hand. I booked the tickets using my credit card - all you do is give the name of each passenger so they know who's going (regardless of who's paid) Just hand over the tickets with passports and that will be it.

I travelled with an e-ticket earlier this month, and printed out all confirmations, emails etc. When I got to the airport all i was asked for was my passport and they were able to retrieve all the booking details from that
