Russian visa

Does it matter that my Russian visa expires the day after I'm due to leave Russia, rather than the exact day I'll be leaving?

If I'm reading your question correctly, you will not have a problem. I visited Russia last yr, and my friend and I left a day earlier than we planned to - no questions were asked. Plus, I imagine they are a lot less bothered about you when you're leaving the country!! I doubt they'll start demanding why you are leaving their wonderful country a day early!
