They just seem to love me! Am going to the BVI May. Has someone got any good tips to avoid bites? I've heard that eating particular food can exudes a body odour which attracts mozzies? I've also been told to take vitamin B12 or is it B2? Any advice welcomed.

Anything "lemon based" is supposed to repel mozzies, i too get bitten to b****** when i go abroad, try and get a body lotion or something with lemon extract in, good luck and hope it works for you

Hi,

Found some info via this link: http://www.ehow.com/how_79_avoid-mosquito-bites.html

I've always found that mosquito spray repellent works the best for me. I've spend much time in Malaysia and seems to repel most, not all. If you do get bitten, you can get instant relief from Tiger Balm, available at Boots etc..

I'd rather smell of mosquito repellent than garlic!!

Hope this helps.

Regards, Rebecca

You need to start taking vitamin B12 now! I went to Egypt last year and took B12 tablets about 1-2 months before going and continued to take them whilst I was there. B12 is supposed to give off a smell which repels mozzies - i think its similar to Marmite (yuck!!) I didn't get bitten once and I'm usually one big walking mosquito bite when I'm on holiday! Have a fab time!! :o)

Many thanks to you all this is all most helpful.
You can buy a thing at Boots which is like a vacuum pump which, if you do get bitten, sort of sucks out the stuff which makes you have a reaction, they are quite good and not many people seem to know about them.
