how safe is travel to sri lanka my aunt who is a very 'unaware' 50 something single traveller is going in october. should we worry. she has travelled alone before to thailand but as i said she is not the most experienced traveller and does tend to be a little carefree. thank you.

As long as your aunt avoids places in the north she should be fine.

Went last summer on my own and had no hassles and felt really safe. All hassle in North Tamil controlled areas. Feel quite envious and would go again No worries. Lovely country and lovely people. Have a great time.
