I am a South African citizen flying to Brazil but change flights in Paris. Will I need a shengen visa for France even if Im not leaving the airport?

Does your trip originate in the UK? I'm just asking because, when I first read your question, I assumed that you were travelling from South Africa via Paris to Brazil!

If you are just transiting in Paris, you will not pass through passport control and consequently do not technically enter French territory.

My trip actually originates in Ireland where I am visiting - sorry, I didn't mention that. Thanks for your help.
