short overland trips in South africa

I am going to SA and want to do a safari/beach trip for max 7 days. I will be in Jo'burg. Just wondered if anyone knows of any good companies that do that kind of thing? Most that I have seen do 2 weeks as the shortest time but i don't have that long. thanks

Not sure if you really want to do beach as well - safari is the best thing ever.
We usually hire a car, drive up (between 4 and 6 hours depending which end of Kruger Park you go) and then you can either do a private safari (min �100 pp pn) or drive yourself and stay )in chalets) at the restcamps. (much cheaper but a bit daunting if you haven't done safari before).

Depends on when you are going really. If you go in high season you need to book in adavnce, there are loads of companies on the net or in travel brouchures but check rpices they vary alot. STA travel are always helpful and offer some short trips in SA.
If you are not going in high season just DIY. You can book safari trips when in Joburg there are loads of agents and you can haggle a little. Book a flight with https://www.kulula.com
low cost fares to and from Joburg to Cape Town, Durban and Port Elisabeth. Loads of good beachy stuff close to PE and in Durban. From Durban you can also orgnaise safari trips 2 days + to Umfolozi National Park which is excellent. Just ask to the airport, hotels or Tourist Information.
Car hire is really cheap is you want to do it all yourself, the roads are good and driving easy.
