Last time we were there, we stayed at the "Hotel du Bois", near the Arc de Triomphe. Very friendly, spotlessly clean and great breakfast. Room was small, but many Paris hotel rooms in this area are and there was a narrow staircase with no lift, for the two upper floors (staff are happy to help with luggage though).
2 min walk to the Champs Elysee and close to where the airport bus drops off. There is a Metro within a couple of blocks.
For what we paid, I would recommend the place

Hotel Excelsior in rue Cujas www.excelsior-paris-hotel.com is excellent - just 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame. I've stayed there several times and it's very good value for money.
