Yes. Any military personnel must have a passport, like civilians, if posted overseas. The Unit Families Office/Personnel Office can assist in the matter.
Yes, in any of the armed forces you could be sent anywhere anytime, you are issued with a free passport on finishing your initial training.

You could be sent abroad on civilian aircraft where you would travel in civilian clothing.

Your occupation on your passport used to be put as Government Service, very 007 like but I think it is now a lot more mundane.
