Are BA /Virgin likely to announce a seat sale for feb/march 07 period again, as they did in september?

most definitely. sale announcements are how all these airlines keep afloat. BA, Virgin and i'd venture to even say Continental are fairly infamous for their great sales (if you can get 'em). only thing is - in the end, seats are always subject to availability on that day you search for your dates of travel regardless of what sale is advertised. people are often disappointed. depends on when you are trying to go mostly... there are people who make it their job to snatch all the seats out from under everyone else almost too fast to be human... hence why christmas holidays are sometimes booked six months up to a year in advance by some of the most saavy.

stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled. think farther ahead than everyone else so you have more room to work with. don't just plan to do the whole reservation to actual plane boarding process within a few days or a month. you might want to subscribe to their mailing lists to be first in the know or just keep doing fare searches.
