Hello all,

Just trying to plan a weekend away with the other half. Can anyone suggest some nice UK cities, or what about Europe.

Have already done Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Stratford, Paris and Lake district recently, so looking for other places.

Cheers

York, Bath... I am told Manchester and Liverpool have their charms... abroad, you can get anywhere in Belgium on Eurostar at no extra cost; I'd recommend Bruges or Ghent. (Brussels is a bit boring, though.) Further afield, well, Europe is absolutely heaving with wonderful cities, so it's more a matter of time and budget. Why not just pop into a travel agent and get a weekend break brochure and see what's on offer? There really are too many to list here: Rome, Venice, Geneva, Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Stockholm, Krakow..............
Depends partly where you're travelling from; if you're within easy reach of a half-decent airport you'll almost certainly find a selection of low-cost flights to European cities. It's now far cheaper to fly somewhere in Europe for the weekend than to stay in the UK and go to a hotel here. Crazy, or what? From where I am in the centre of England it's easy and cheap to get to Prague, Barcelona, Milan, Salzburg - loads of places, in fact.
Barcelona!!!!!!

I live in Valencia in spain but im english, stay in Barcelona its a gr8 city, and stay in the Grand Marina Hotel its gorgeous 5* and around 150 Euros a nite but the best hotel i have ever been in and I have done alot of traveling.

fly by easyjet dirt cheap
I agree that Barcelona is a fabulous city and is well worth a visit. Good UK cities to visit would be York, Chester and (non-UK I Kow) - Dublin.
How about Venice if you can afford it?
