You can't go wrong in Temple Bar, an area full of Pubs Bars and Clubs, ask any taxi driver to take you there, but beware if you are a large group of lads as they are clamping down on letting such parties into some of the clubs, there's more info here http://www.explore-dublin.com/525/Dublin_Nightlife

Temple Bar I agree on wholeheartedly. But if you want to see some fine scenery (and we arn't talking paintings) head for Cafe en Seine. (In dubbo pronounced "cafe on sonya") any local will tell you the same thing. Try I think its "Luigi Malones" for food (dead centre of temple bar)
