have you been to kuwait airport?

has anyone been to Kuwait Airport? I have a stopover there and was wonderfing how terrible it's going to be and whether I should arrange staying in the hotel? I am there 7 hours.

its one of the best airports in the middle east.

Funny I remember going there in 1990, before it got 'Rebuilt' courtesy of Gulf War 1, and the traveller facilities were a bunch of plastic school type chairs in a room and a shop (like a wood-lap garden shed!) selling postcards and plastic camels.

I expect it might have improved since, but I got the impression it was not geared up for tourists.

I had about an hour's stop there in January 05. Wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't have enjoyed a seven hour stop there. Probably best looking at getting a bed!

make sure you dont need a visa to enter into Kuwait, if you are going to take the hotel option ask them if you can come out on a transit visa.
most middle eastern airports are plush these days, but take a book to read and you can only get snacks I think.
Hotels wont be cheap either.
