No one airline could be said to be THE us flag carrier, but several us registered airlines carry the flag on their aircraft.

At one time it would have been PanAm but they bit the dust years ago.

As mushroom25 says, there isn't one. It doesn't really fit the US free enterprise ethic for there to be one.

There's never been (as far as I know) a state airline in the US. So, unlike British Airways, Air France, Alitalia, the Luftwaffe etc (most of which have now been privatised to some extent) there isn't really one.
