'The London Experience' in the late 70's early 80's?
Can anyone remember a 'touristy' kind of thing that was on in London in the late 70's early 80's called the London Experience? It was kind of like Tussauds is today, I can remember sitting down watching a potted history of London with the 'smells and the smoke'..... Hope someone can help - Thanks

I'm not quite sure what you're looking for in an answer here. Perhaps you're wondering if senility is finally setting in and that you only imagined visiting 'The London Experience'? :-)
If so, we're both as senile as each other and, what's more, we share our delusions!
The London Experience was one of the first attractions at the Trocadero (alongside the Guinness World of Records). I took several school groups (from Sheffield) there. It was basically a multi-screen slide show, set to music, with an accompanying commentary. (They heavily promoted the 'smells and smoke' element in their publicity material but it actually played a very small part in the show).

Hi
Yes it was at the Trocedero like Buenchico said.
There was also a cafe bit downstairs where you could have your portrait done in pencil ?
I also remeber going to the Guiness Book of records and the London Experience bit -
I also loved the Holograms, and yes Buenchcico even bought a couple as it was trendy then !! lol

Thanks so much for the repiles Chris and Tina, I am so pleased that somebody else remembers the 'London experience', I couldnt remember for the life of me where it was (I still really can't!), but its a memory that sticks with me. I can remember it was my first time in London and it was on a school trip (from Chester). I wonder when it actually went from the Trocadero? I was thinking of sending them an email to find out when it vanished... I never went to the Guinness World of Records =0( Thanks again so much for the replies - you have made my day!
