Flying out to Prague with my Mrs in a few weeks for a couple of days. Any tips on what we should and shouldn't look out for?

Walk through the town and go up to the castle which is a real focal point and you get a lovely view of Prague and its bridges. Stroll across the main bridge which is pedestrian only (Charles Bridge I think) and you can buy local nick nacks from people who have set up little stalls on either side. Glass is really good value and apparently the thing to buy when there! So if you need a new set of crystal save your pennies! Puppets(!) also seem to be sols everywhere and also a lot of wooden toys.
Be aware that if you use the restaurants around the main squares you will be paying much more for beer etc than if you go to bars away from the center. Also be very wary of pick pockets! Other than that have a great time there is loads to see and do by just setting out to explore the city.

Beware of pickpockets Also, be aware that the cobbled streets can be painful on the ankles. You'll need flat shoes or, preferably, walking boots. I know it sounds over the top for a city but I regretted not taking mine. The Konvict restaurant gives good food at local prices and has a non-smoking back room. County Life is good for cheap but good lunches, there are 2 in the city. The memories are flooding back, enjoy your trip.
The astronomical clock in the Old Town has a moving display, on the hour. Get there early. Good subway and bus system. Prazska Loreta is AMAZING> There are jewelled vestments and chalices in a room with a guard. A 90cm monstrance made fromgold and silver with 6,222 diamonds. SEE IT! Can get there by bus. Closes 12.15 to 1 pm. Lots of other things there, it's a place of pilgimage.
St Nicholas Church in Old Town Sq has a magnificent chandelier. Boat trip is very cheap, for an hour, very pleasant.
