Bangkok & Phuket
Hi We've just booked our holiday today - we are going to Bangkok for 3 nights and Phuket for 10 nights. We are staying at the Central Karon Beach Resort in Phuket. Has anyone stayed there? Can you make any recommendations based on your experiences e.g. places to visit, what sort of things to pack, food etc.. We are going in 4 weeks & I can't wait!!!
Thanks for any answers!

Patpong market is a must in Bangkok but dont get ripped off as they pounce on tourists lol! Use the skytrain to get about it is really cheap and clean and easy to use. When you get to Phuket your resort will have details of trips you can go on and the boat trips and canoeing are just fantastic. You can try shopping around but most are priced the same. I stayed at the Katathani resort which is just minutes away from your resort. You must try Mom Tri's Kitchen for a meal it is without a doubt the most superb place I have ever eaten, very secluded and when you book they will arrange transport to pick you up. I am considering getting married there, it is so good!

Hi, I'm off to phuket tomorrow evening (sat) and i'm staying at the pacific club resort at Karon beach. This will be my 16th visit to thailand in the last 12 years and if like me you will absolutely love it. The side of the island you are on has 3 main resort areas all next to each other going up the coast. The largest and loudest is Patong beach, then 5 mins away by cab is karon beach which is slightly more low key then the quietest resort is next up the coast which is Kata beach. All have theyre own individual charm althought the best beaches are definately at Karon. All these resorts can be visited in the same night if you wish. Phuket is also a great place to hire a car as the driving is so very easy and its a great island to explore. 3 days car hire for about 2500 baht. Don't miss trips to james bond island. Fantasea cabaret show and definately do the sea kayaks. In all the years i've been i've never seen any kind of trouble although be wary of pick pockets around Patong beach (bangla road). If u need any specific advice get in touch but bear in mind i leave tomorrow at 3pm. Have a great time which i'm sure you will.
Wow thanks Alijangra & Bucko - Can't wait. I'm really looking forward to the food as I've heard such good things about it. Will definitely try Mom Tri's Kitchen (do they take you back again?).
Bucko hope you have a fab time - happy to be in the low key resort - my clubbing days are definitely over! My husband will love the James Bond island!!!
Thanks again guys
