In four weeks i fly to America

In four weeks i fly to America.I am fliying to Newyork via Washington.Iget off at Washigton anwaite 5 hours for my connecting flight.Can anyone tell me if i collect my cases or will they be transferd.

When I flew to Louisville, Kentucky via Chicago I was booked on the same airline for both flights. However, I had to collect my case at Chicago to go through immigration and customs. Directly after customs American Airlines (the airline I was flying with) had a luggage drop and I left it there which was handy as I had to change terminals. On the way back my case was taken at Louisville and I didn't see it again until Manchester.

yes you will have to collect your bag and then re check it in for you second flight,just as spudqueen says.
