I have done this crossing many times. As veryhelpfulguy says, the service is operated by P&O. If you go to their website you will find out everything about the crossing.
Departure time is around 19:00 and arrival time is around 08:00 / 08:30.
You have to have a berth in a cabin so if you are travelling alone and want privacy, you will have to book single occupancy of a 2-berth cabin. All the details are on the site.
There are several options for meals:
- Take your own dinner and breakfast.
- Buy something light on board.
- Eat in the 4 seasons buffet restaurant (it's slightly cheaper if you book it at the same time as you book your ticket). Drinks are extra at dinner.
- Eat dinner in the full-service restaurant.
If you have a car, that will add considerably to the cost.
This is not a cheap option for getting across the channel, but the ideal route if you are travelling from the north of the country.
The Hull-Rotterdam service is the same price but is a bit quicker because the boats are faster and they don't have to go through the lock at Hull.
