Any 'must do's ' in Galway

Going to Galway for a week for the first time. Is there anywhere to go which can be classed as a 'must do', eg Irish folk clubs, visitor attractions etc.

It's not a big place. Pubs everywhere. You'll stumble across everything - not necessarily literally! Get out of the town and go to Connemara. Spectacular scenery there. A week is a bit long for the town itself.

Galway is a small city with a few things to do but is a better base for seeing the surrounding areas, for example, 1) Go to Connemara 2) Take a trip over the water to the Aaran Islands 3) See the cliffs of Moher In Galway itself you should definately check-out the: 1) Cathedral 2) Gothic Architecture of Galway University 3) Definately do a city tour on an open top bus for a better all round view of the city!
