Beautiful South West

A friend and I are driving to the South West of England later in the week, just for a couple of days, and would like some ideas of which roads to take to see some beautiful sights.
Whether it be countryside we pass or something we should stop off to look at, like Glastonbury Tor.

Any suggestions?

There are several ways you can go. Where is your destination?

we are going to bath, then poole for the night, then up to glastonbury tor and on to herefordshire then back to london via oxford

Cheddar Gorge is very near Bath. You can drive through the middle of the gorge for an amazing sight. You can also visit the caves.

There are also the Wookey Hole caves.

These are fairly near Cheddar, in fact Wookey Hole and Chedder are mid-way between Bath and Glastonbury.

Between Bath and Poole are a couple of things you may want to see.

Salisbury; You could stop at Salisbury either on the way down or on the way back. Lovely town with an amazing cathedral.

Stonehenge: This is North of Salisbury.

Stourhead: National Trust gardens south of Bath. Free entry if NT members. One of the most amazing gardens in the UK.

That's why I asked where you were ending up. Us in South Devon count the places where you have mentioned as, at least, the Midlands, or the North, rather than the South West
