My friend and I are going to Geneva for 3 nigths arriving 30th December. Can anyone suggest anything we should do during our short stay there. Are there many event over New Year and are the any outdoor celebrations on Hogmany(New Years Eve), that we could join in with? Do we have to book. Can anyone recommend any Clubs/Bars/Restaurants, again do we have to book at that time of year? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
many thanks

I typically stay at the Hotel des Bergues Geneva. It's truly one of my favourite hotels in Geneva...Zurich for that matter as well!

A couple of years ago I spent New Years eve there, due to missing my connections from Budapest as I headed back to London. They had a fantastic celebration evening in the Grand Ballroom. Later I was invited out to several clubs. One was on the lake..the others a bit towards the 'burbs.'

I must go now, but I'll have a look and see what I can find for you, as well as some links.

Be well

Great choice by the way!

that would be very much appreciated. We are staying at the Savoy Hotel which is actually cheap and cheerful. This is in Place Cornavin if you know that area at all.

thanks
