Tenerife
I live in Tenerife Sur from October until March, been doing it for twenty years.
Going back in two weeks, if anyone wants any info, if I can help I will.
Age would help as it`s horses for courses.

We have never been to that part of Tenerife and are aged 30 with a 3 year old daughter!! Although we like posh accommodation we are not really posh people and I am worried that the local restaurants and bars will be full of stuck up old gits!!! Do you know anything about this particular area and how far away it is from Las Americas or Los cristianos? We like to have a fair few drinks on an evening then go for a meal but obviously can't go to loud rowdy bars now with a child but don't want them to be too posh for a child either if you know what I mean.
Hi Tigwig,
Am I right in thinking it`s timeshare, if it`s the one I am thinking of the complex is excellent with superb facilities.
I can`t remember there being a beach, just a rocky coastline.
I am sure the pool area is fine for your youngster.
The bad points about Golf del Sur is that it`s on the flight path, doesn`t bother most people.
There is no bus service into the Golf by order of the local taxi mafia so you have to use taxis.
Good news is they are not expensive, normally Mercs and are very clean.
You are about fifteen minutes from Cristianos and Los Americas, I live in Cristianos.
If you want so get anywhere you will definately need a car, though they are very reasonable.
I don`t think you need to worry about the stuck up old gits if you are going in the summer, winter is different with much older clientel.
Another thing in your favour is that it is close to the airport.
Golf is not really a resort but a collection of different small resorts, it sprawls over a very large area but I have never found it`s heart. they are building a new marina which looks very nice, that may give it a centre.
It has always seemed a very safe place to me.
A lot of people live or rent long term on the Golf because property is cheaper than in the resorts. They tend to commute to the resorts to work.
I can`t reccomend any eateries, you don`t go ther for a night out, but I am sure there are superb places to eat.
Your closest places for food are Las Galletas and Los Abrigos with it`s fine fish restaurents.
If you let me know what kind of trips you like I can point you in the right direction having done them all at some time or other.
Kind regards
Rodz

thanks very much for your answer. The noise of aeroplanes doesn't bother us in fact my daughter will probably love them! It is a kind of timeshare place because we are going with Club Sunterra which is a holiday club we have joined for 3 years. We are going end of May next year (school hols) for a week so I am sure it will be busy. We don't usually do trips we just like to veg out round the pool! Once again thanks.
