I get all my vax at my GP surgery. I would be very surprised if you need yellow fever. Very few places need that. You would only need a certificate if you were coming from a country that had yellow fever - which you are not, if you are going from UK.
The usual ones are Tetanus (or booster), typhoid (lasts 3 yrs), Hep A, Polio (lasts 10 years) - I have never taken Malaria tablets for Borneo - but maybe they are currently advising them.
Anyway your Doc will know what latest recommendations are.

Ah....an answer from the one who caused all this....lol.
Hi Jk2, I hope you are well! Yep...me and Little divegirl fly to KL for a couple of days at the end of March, then 6 days in Kota Kinabalu 'doing the rainforests', followed by a week on Tioman Island 'doing the diving'....and all thanks to you!!!!! I can't wait, but must admit to being a little apprehensive as this will be the furthest we have travelled.
I have sub-mitted a travel form to my GP and am waiting to hear back as to what they advise.....my question arose from the snotty attitude from the receptionist saying ''as you have chosen to put yourselves at risk....this is going to cost you...blah blah blah....''...personally I think she was jealous ;o].....looked like the Costa Chav type to me....lol.
Anyhoo, I'm just trying to get everything in place, but am eternally grateful to you for your initial suggestion.

Sounds fantastic Lisa. Blow the receptionist - Borneo is not a risky country for disease. On both trips, I was there in March & another time in May, none of us saw a mosquito let alone got bitten. Tetanus is important just in case of cuts or grazes, Hep A is well worth having for any travels & typhoid. Although we have wiped polio out here, it still re-occurs in other parts of the world. And,of course, once you've had them you'll be ok for your next exotic holiday - or at least your return trip to Borneo!!! Dying to hear all about it when you get back. I'm off to China on 11th November - getting excited. It's panda's this time!. Jean xx
Definitely Tescos for those Malaria tabs. Dont want to scare you but I had the worst stomach cramps ever with them (worse than period pain) but a Swedish girl I met suffered no side effects whatsoever. Take the usual Hep injections and tetanus as you would for travelling anywhere. Amazing place, have an amazing time, if you need advice on getting around post again, I went as a backpacker and probably saw a different side to Borneo than someone who goes on an organised tour... take care!
