Traveling to Cornwall

I'm Traveling to Cornwall this coming Sat. from London and was thinking of going along the A31/A35 instead of the usual A303. Has anyone used this route and what was your thoughts.

I Use the A31/35 route all the time. It's a much more pleasant route for scenery etc. and I often find it quicker. True, it's single lane most of the way but there tends to be a lot less traffic.
