We are flying longhaul real soon and it wil be a struggle for my husband not smoking - it was bad enough before 1st July but since no smoking in airport building has come in i really dread the airport/plane part of the holiday. He obviously wont smoke cos he's not allowed to but i know he will be SO grumpy. when you add the check in times + flight times i am almost afraid of the thought (i cant contemplate a delay!!). So my question is how do other smoker tollerate this??

Then you were wrong.
CHILDREN! GROW UP!!!!

Some one is merely asking for advice and all you so called 'adults' do is turn it into some personal debate if you're not answering the quesiton clear off to chatterbank and argue in there

Geezzzzzzzzzzzz!
Smoking is fithy and should be stopped because the people who smoke arnt fithy
Who are you telling to grow up? I didn't start it. It was them.

wow...dont think ive ever asked a question and got so much response! i am just asking for helpful suggestions thanks to those of you that offered advice or 'stuck up for me' He wishes he could give up (and i certainly do) but thats easier said than done. I must add he hasnt smoked in ours or anybodies houses, cars or anywhere enclosed for many years he is very considerate and tries to be discreet.
And Lucy you air your views to the publicans going out of business cos their takings are not adequate for them to survive through the winter months when smokers would rather stay at home - im sure youd be well popular. thanks once again

i think lucy is talking out of her mouth, cos its already been up her 4rse so far, its come back to the top.
If you do a bit of research you will see that pubs closing because of the ban is a bit of an urban myth. People are now returning to pubs who would have otherwise stayed away. The nett result is no significant change in pub patronage. If there is any reduction, maybe the publicans should look closer to home for the causes, mainly the extortionate prices they charge.
Lucy, I think you mean "net result"
Nice try, but this can be spelt either way. look in your dictionary.
I did, it said net with one t.

Shouldn't you have had a capital L in "look"?

Lucy - again, perhaps you would like to inform the publicans affected in my local rural area - the hard facts in reality (in this area at least) are not as in your dreams
If you look in a GOOD dictionary such as COD you will see that nett is defined as an alternative to net.
