Airport procedure

Hiya going on 1st holiday abroad, can anyone tell me the procedure at the airport from when you 1st arrive to gettin off the plane and then what do we do once we arrive at the other end.
Also what are you allowed/not allowed to take in your hand luggage.
Are mobile phones and ipods allowed on the plane?

I have been to Salou twice in the last few years.

I did not stay in Salou but at a large theme park and hotel complex on the edge of town called Port Aventura.

The nearest airport is Reus (about 15 minute drive to Salou), is that were you are flying in to, or are you going to Barcelona, which is about a 90 minute drive away.

If you are going to Reus it is the smallest airport in the world and you have to walk from the plane to the terminal building.

If you are going to Salou, and you like theme parks, you must go to the Port Aventura theme park.

It is right on the edge of Salou and is as good a theme park as I have ever been in.

I'm a bit concerned re Wizards needle issue. I don't think that you can take that on a plane unless pre-booked and then under supervision of cabin crew..please check!!

Right next to the Port Aventura theme park is a water park.

This is also a great park with all the usual stuff like lazy rivers, slides, wave machines and so on.

You can easily spend a day in there.

Forgot to say.

At certain times of the year the theme park is open to midnight.

We found going in the day too hot, but going in the evening was much nicer, and most of the crowds had gone by then so the queues were shorter.

They also have an amazing show, with fireworks, most nights at midnight.

The theme park site is huge, here is a picture from the air (you can see the water park in the bottom left hand corner)

You can easly spend 2 or more days in the theme park and still not see everything.

Wow helpfulguy your user name is spot on lol, yes we are flying into Reus airport then going to Salou.
Any information you have about Salou would be a great help thanks.
Ive been told by a couple of ppl to stay away from Tarragona ( have you been there ) if so what did you think?

To be honest although I have been to Port Aventura twice we did not go down into the actual town of Salou very much.

There is a huge beach (as you can see from the picture I put on my earlier append) but it does get very crowded on a hot day.

There is also a nice prom area at the back of the beach that people stroll along in the evening. Here is a picture:

There is also a McDonalds there !

Blimey, I was being facetious when I suggested the ingredients for a trifle - it didn't cross my mind that that was the item in question! I assumed "TRIFEL"was some sort of acronym or portmanteau word that I hadn't come across. Which raises the equally intriguing question - what's a "trifull"? Something packed to 300% capacity, perhaps.....?
