Hi Can anyone confirm if the 17kg hold allowance is separate to the 10kg hand luggage allowance? In other words are you allowed up to 27kg total for hand & hold luggage or 17kg total for hand & hold luggage. Clear as mud hey!! Thanks

You're allowed a total of 27Kg but the allowances are not transferable. (You can't, for example, say "Please let me take 20Kg in the hold because I've only got a couple of Kg in my hand baggage).

In practice, unless you're carrying exceptionally heavy items, your cabin baggage is unlikely to weigh anywhere near 10Kg because the maximum dimensions are only 46x30x23cm.

If you exceed the allowance for hold baggage, you'll be charged 6 per Kg, with a maximum permitted weight of 25Kg for any single item:

Thanks Chris
I usually fly with Tomson and the allowance with them is a bit different.
