Approximately 8 years ago i was convicted of having a utensil used for smoking cannabis. I had no pot whatsoever and have had no convictions since. Will this affect me getting a work visa for the U.S?

WHAT! Is it an offence to own utensils.....better get rid of my hookers!
Are yu a uk citizen?
Getting a work visa for the usa is virtually impossible (unless you are david beckham, do something that no american can do anyway, or are a diplomat or similar) and i would imagine a drug related conviction would reduce that to zero

If you hold only a British passport the only way to get a work visa is to be sponsored by a US company. There are also avenues for seeking employment in areas such as ski resorts etc. You might be best speaking to an immigration lawyer regarding a your offense. Possession and consumption of drugs are a big NO NO when it comes to US immigration but the possession of a implement may not be. I wasn't aware it was illegal to carry a drug implement in the UK. Did the implement contain signs of drug use?
