Budapest - best currency

what currency should I take to Budapest? I am visting for a weekend.

Hi mccar1l, we intend to visit Budapest in the April. It appears that Hungary does not yet use the Euro although it does intend to.  I'll be converting a small amount of money into the Hungarian forint befoe I arrive and relying on my ATM card for the rest.

Hopes this helps! If you find out if the Euro is readily excepted could you let me know. I'd be very grateful.

I think you'll find that euros are readily accepted.

They are also quite fond of US Dollars.
