passport to scotland

if i am going on a vogae in the channel, setting off in england and only landing in scotland then back in england why would i need a passport?

is it because the boat could have snook to mainland europe and picked up other people/ the crew are from europe and would need a passport to go to scotland so they have to check everyone?

That and for ID in general, same way as you require a passport for internal flights purely as photo ID.

so would it have to be a passport because i have one but i don't think all of the other people going have.

would something like an explore card that you can use in shops ect as id be good enough?

plus i'm sure that one person has a driving licence but no passport would that be ok or don't you know.

Check with the company operating the ship, with flights it normally has to be a passport just because that is the airlines policy and nothing to do with the law. However It may well be different with a ship. as you are leaving the UK (well if you go more than 12 miles offshore)

i don't know how far into the water we will be going. i'll have to ask the people organising it. and if you can use a licence then it will save my friend the �50 or more that it costs to get a passport.

think it more like �72 for a passport!

I expect you will find they say a passport is required.
