Help-need to cancel holiday?!!
Hi
I am due to go on a short break within the UK to Devon. This is in 3 days time. I have travel insurance.
I have sprained my wrist & am unable to drive. I have two children & a dog, so am unable to use public transport for obvious reasons!
If I were to cancel, is this reason covered.....a spraied wrist? It says illness or injury etc but is sprained wrist a good enough reason to get my money back. The break cost 645-which I can not afford to loose & wish to go away but there is no way I could drive 2.5 hour journey with this injury?

I really want to go on this break-I need it to say the least! I tried driving earlier & its too painful when I change gears. I feel its irresponsible to drive a 3 hr drive with two children with a dodgy wrist -I could have an accident. I cant go by train with luggage, a dog on a lead & two children........BUT would the INSURANCE Company EXPECT me to do this??? Thats what I need to know......or would a dr's note stating unfit to drive be sufficient???
Oh dear. I live in Devon and didn't want to think of you missing out on a trip here. I would have thought the insurance would cover you but I get your point about the fact that they might expect you to take the train. If you are faced with losing 645 it would be preferable to go mad and have a taxi, I know it would be pricey but worth a quote.
This is horrible! I soooooooooo want to go. I have been to Devon many times-hence thats where I chose to go again! Its lovely there!!! Taxi is a good idea but there is no way I can afford the cost! Thank you anyway. What I need to know is......is it likely the insurance would say it doesnt matter you cant drive you could get a train! Can I really be expected to get a train, with a dog, two children, luggage with only one useable hand???? If I got proof from my doctor - a certificate, saying unfit to drive, would the claim be successful????
