Which is the cheapest month to go on holiday in?

I'm sure it depends on a few different factors such as where you're actually travelling to.

But I'm just wondering in the off-peak seasons is there one specific month (or period of time) when the majority of people stay at home, meaning flights accommodation is cheap etc.
