No it's not. It's not brilliant but it's not bad! The rating was based on user feedback which means that if a number of people got together and slated the city it would have featured. To me the decision weakens Lonely Planets reputation as printing such nonsense is pointless. Yeah, I read that Lonely Planet article on MSN. You just need to read the feedback on that site to realise it's such a non story.
silly season stories - the likes of LP release this rubbish as 'surveys' when there's no other news around, in hopes of getting their name in the papers. It works, too. But cls14 is quite right, it weakens LP's authority. Putting Los Angeles on the list won't win them much affection in the USA, either.
