Most regiments have a museum, and these can be of widely varying standards of display. Bovington camp in Dorset has a tank collection, then there's the RAF museums at Hendon and Cosford. Most local museums have a decent 'home front' type display but phone and check in advance - permanent displays at Manchester Sci & Industry museum / Glasgow people's Palace / York Castle give a good idea of what homes looked and felt like.

There is a little bit to see at Lepe Country Park on coast near the New Forrest.
They did a lot of work there in preparation for the D Day landings. It was a major departure point for troops, vehicles and supplies, for the construction of the Mulberry Harbour
Still a lot of remains there

As already said, depends what you're interested in. Around Bridlington, there are lots of derelict WW2 defences (pill boxes etc) along the beach.
Eden Camp (http://www.edencamp.co.uk/) is nearby.
There's a derelict RAF underground bunker about 5 miles away: http://www.subbrit.or...ton/tour/distant.html
