I've been able to off load the kids for a weekend in June and would like to go away with OH, but stay in the UK. Could anyone recommend a decent place to go, good food, good bars (not chavvy, buy one get six free kinda stuff) and a bit to look at. I live in Essex so don't fancy London much.

Any advice welcome.
