I googled "parking liverpool cathedral" and this came up
http://www.liverpoolc...g/how-to-find-us.aspx

However when I;ve attended graduation ceremonies, the university usually sends out info to the students as to where their guests should park?
You're obviously not old enough, Boxtops, to remember 'The Liver Birds' on TV. More specifically you seem to be unaware of the line in the title song which says "If you want a cathedral, we've got one to spare" ;-)

Yes, Liverpool has two cathedrals! Your link goes to the older (CofE) cathedral, whereas Katystar's daughter is getting her degree at the newer Metropolitan (RC) Cathedral. There's a car park underneath it:

For the nearest NCP car parks, enter L3 5TQ in the search facility here:

The Cathedral website states that 'Mount Pleasant' can be entered as a destination in a SatNav. The Liverpool Council website shows a 1392-space multi-storey car park at Mount Pleasant:

You are very kind Chris, but I remember the Liver Birds very well, they were of my era - but I don't remember the theme tune at all. I have never been to the city, and I forgot that I do know that there are two cathedrals. Best laid plans, etc.....
