Has anybody flown with Ryanair?  I found a cheap flight but I have heard it said that you don't get numbered seats with Ryanair.  I am a middle aged, overweight woman travelling with a child so I am not sure that would work for me.  Can anybody tell me more about it? Thanks.

i have actually flown with ryanair to dublin quite a few times and the no numbered seats arent really a problem but i would advise you to avoid the very front row as these seats arent as wide as the others and as an over weight person myself my last trip to dublin was a bit of an uncomfortable one luckily its only 45 minutes.but apart from that the airline is fine.
I have flown Ryanair on many occassions without a problem. It is correct that there are no seat allocations but on each occasion they have asked for travellers with children to come to the front to board first. I really don't think you will have a problem but mention your concern to the ticket desk when you book in. Hope all goes ok and you have a good flight.
I agree, you should be fine. Even if you were to check in early, you're more likely to be one of the first people on the plane and can choose your seat anyway.
I've flown with them on several occasions. They allocate numbered cards on a first come/first served basis at check-in. They then call people forward in groups of 60, so the earlier you can check in, the more choice you will have. Plus if you are travelling with a child, they'll call you forward to board the plane first anyway.

With Ryanair the seating is pretty much a free for all (depending upon your security number and how fast you are at getting on the plane).  With a child, you should receive preferential treatment though and allowed to go to the plane before the rest of the riff raff!

One thing I would be aware of though is where you are flying to.  Ryanair have lots of cheap flights to small airports that are miles out of the city you want to go to.  Search the airport on google to find how far it is from the city and how easy it is to travel there.  (e.g. the onein Oslo is a 2 hour coach ride from Oslo city centre)

I returned from Granada (Spain) on a Ryan Air flight yesterday.  They always allow people with children to board the flight first, even if they are not among the first to check in.  Just make sure you are at the Boarding Gate at the correct time.  You will then be able to choose where to sit in the plane (although children can't sit by the emergency exists which have more leg room nor can anyone usually sit in the first two rows, unless the flight is full).  The food on board is expensive and of poor quality.  The best thing to do is to take some for you and your child.   A cup of tea is 1.85!!!

I know this is an old topic, but i just flew with ryanair (10/2/06 and 12/02/06) and you are issued a sequential numbered boarding card at check in. However, at the gate unless you are the first there, there will be a big queue of people in front of you. They do say boarding card numbers 1-65 please board first, but as there all these people in front of you they just let them board anyway.BUT, they always let passengers with children or passengers with difficuilties board first!!!

many thanks - I never did fly with Ryanair in the end; the good news is I have lost some weight, the bad news is I am a year older!
