6th Form Rail travel concessions
My grandaughter is just starting the 6th form, what rail travel concessions are available for her?

However if your grandaughter has to travel by rail to get to her place of study the local education authority may offer discretionary assistance to meet her travel costs. (That happens here in Suffolk). The school or college should be able to provide information about any such scheme, but it's often simpler just to phone the education authority. (It will be listed in the phone book under the name of the county council, or metropolitan or unitary council where appropriate).

As Mike correctly points out, the 16-25 Railcard can't be used for commuting.
However, to add to his answer, I'll point out that the £12 minimum fare (before 10am on weekdays) doesn't apply in July and August or to discounted Advance Fares (all year round). So, even though it would be of no use for getting to school or college, the card might still be of interest to your grandaughter.
