I am searching for a self-catering accommodation (lodge/caravan/cottage) which is graded as suitable for an "Assisted Wheelchair User". It would preferably sleep four persons but two would be of interest. I have been onto the National Accessible Scheme web site but this lists ALL self-catering properties but does not list those specifically for disabled persons. Can anybody point me to suitable properties please, any help at all would be very much appreciated. My disabled wife, and I, are desperate for a holiday.

I can understand the need for a holiday, I have not had a break in years and the suitability of holiday accomodation for my family's needs is virtually non existant.

Wow!! Hows that for a reponse, seven replies in about 30 minutes. Thanks to you all, I will now get searching.
if you visit your local mobility centre they used to have a brochure with all different holidays for wheelchair users. Also check out Warners holidays because their Lakeside holiday village is nearly all on ground level and some of the chalets are adapted especially for such users and closest to the dining room, entertainment etc so are some of their other sites.
