It's 4.1 miles from poyle to T3.
there will be buses to the terminals unless you are staying in Scum Hotels.....if in doubt, e-mail the doss house if they do not have the info on-line on their website.

It's a travelodge DT as stated.
To get from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3, simply go the terminal's mainline rail station and hop on a Heathrow Express train. They run every 15 minutes, with a journey time of about 3 minutes. No ticket is required, as travel between terminals is free of charge.

If you'd rather take a bus, services 441 and 724 run between the two terminals, taking 10 and 20 minutes respectively. At night (2355 to 0455) the N9 bus does the journey, taking 10 minutes. Once again, inter-terminal travel is free of charge. (Terminal 5 has its own bus station. Terminal 3 is served by Heathrow Central bus station).

we will have the car and will be paying for parking while we are away.
I'll take that and knowing Heathrow, or rather more pointedly, British Airways, it may make a pillow in the terminal.

Lol at yours

nb from what ive looked up generally it said terminal 3, doesnt say on the e-ticket.
there are, I understand, some places that allow you to park at much chepaer prices and then lay on buses to the terminals......given Buenchico's Encyclopedia Britannica knowledge of travel, there may be some pertinent advice coming in from him.
Thank you for your kind comment, DTCF!

For cheap(-ish!) car parking at Heathrow, start here:

Always look at the Airport's NCP car park, and ALWAYS use a discount code. It's usually cheaper than those satellite parking places and you don't have to wait around for the bus for ages.
