lol oh i did enjoy cairns, and im heading to melbourne soon, i hear good things about it!
ah Headwreck i was on an island when we got the tsunami warning, bit worrying but they said it wouldnt hit until the next day, which was the day we were leaving so we just went back to having a party on the beach lol!
not much of a wave though, just some rough sea...
Get yourself a 3 day travel pass for the ferry, trains and buses. The ferry rides alone are worth it, enjoy, wish I was with you. Oh, and the Botanical Gardens with the fox bats are well worth a visit too.
ah Nomads, such fun hostels lol. ive stayed at some of their places and its not so bad, ive spoken to someone about their card and stuff but theres not a lot they can do with sightseeing things. thanks though for looking, was real nice of you :)
Hi Lumination,
My friend and her boyfriend are over there nearly a month now..She met Will from Home and Away the other day..Very jealous, I say hit Summer Bay ;)
When you get to Melbourne hire a car and drive along the great ocean road take your time, a couple of days if poss. Lots to see and Lorne(about half/way along) is a great place for an overnight stop. Enjoy
i cant drive :( but ill be meeting this guy i spent xmas with in Laos, bit of a nutter but a funny guy so was gonna stay with him for a while. im betting ill be back here anyway, there is the rest of Aus that needs to be discovered!
and $115 for the 3 day pass...hmmmm, maybe ill walk and that lol
glad you're alive and well, lumi. I'm safely tucked up in NZ at the moment, but there was a pretty high tide here. Try to get out to the Blue Mountains if you can. But that's probably in the guide books. The aquarium, climb the harbour bridge, the Manly ferry... all the obvious!
I am sure you will be seeing the Opera House from the outside, but if you are at all interested in actually seeing the opera, they have about half a dozen standing tickets for each show and they are incredibly cheap - it's a really great experience imo, whether you like opera or not.
