getting around whitby north yorks
I have temporary limited mobility due to a recent knee operation. We are considering a holiday in Whitby but I now have concerns as I have been told Whitby is quite hilly and steep. We will not have access to a car when there. Advice required please

I went a few weeks ago and it does have a lot of steep bits, especially the steps up to the abbey (about 195 I think! and the piers and such aren't wonderful for walking on, I think you would struggle. I have arthritis and it was pretty hard going for me but I pushed it as only a day trip so a few hours really then Robin Hood's Bay (also very steep and rocky). Lovely place...

Looks like a holiday in the Fens - or in Holland/. If you want something in the very near future the Keukenhof (not that far from Schipol) is superb for the tulips...and if you do like flowers, its worth getting up very early and going to Aalsmeer to the auctions. When I lived there in the late 90s you could buy 50 tulips on the street for Nfl10 (£3)

Lovely place but not the easiest to get around if you have mobility issues.
